There are both private and public funded universities which run on trimester basis with intakes in January, May and September.

Tuition fee is variable; it varies from course to course and among institutions. It can range from AUD $8000 to AUD $20,000.PA Depending upon the course of study. Unless an international student has some scholarships or exchange programs, one has to pay the full cost of their education.

Living expenses for single students ranges between A$6000 to A$12000 an year. This includes accommodation, clothing, food, transport and entertainment. Married students would need about A$3000 per year for an spouse and A$2000 for each child. The above figures are exclusive of air fares, course related costs like health insurance, costs of large non-essential items such as television, video or car.

Many Universities provide on campus accommodation which is generally known as halls of residence as well as dedicates departments there help with accommodation needs. The demand for on campus accommodation remains high; therefore an early exercise to their choice to the institution produces better chances of success. At a residential hall students usually have a room of their own but bathrooms, laundries and recreational facilities are shared. Most halls do provide meals and some offer kitchen facilities.
